We’re inviting you to submit your work for our next online exhibit:
Poema: a Figure and Portrait Exhibit.

This exhibit celebrates the beauty and mystery of being made in the image of God — real people and real humanity’s presence on the earth.

At the heart of this exhibit is this truth: As humans, we are God’s Poema, created with beautiful workmanship (Ephesians 2:10). You are art, too. And we have the opportunity to recognize God’s artwork in another.

We’re looking for artwork where the human image is the main focus.

This could include:

  • Figures and physical close-ups (eyes, hands, feet)
  • Interior forms (like X-ray or ultrasound-inspired artwork)
  • Portraits and self-portraits (can be abstracted, as long as it clearly depicts a person or people)

Entries for Poema need to represent the human form—not substitute a symbolic object like a bridge or a shoe.

Submit up to 3 entries per artist, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, poetry, and more. All entries need to be non-violent, non-political, kid-friendly, and recovery-friendly.

As you create, consider:
Where do you see God’s presence in the people around you?
What does love look like — listening, helping, comforting, and seeing beauty?

We believe the image of God is not distant.
He is reflected in the lives and bodies of those around us.

Note: If you submit a photograph that includes a recognizable person, please have the recognizable person complete this form: https://jessienilo.typeform.com/image-release
