Inspired by a sermon illustration with tissue paper as a sign of surrender, each work in this series uses modeling/sculpting paste fiber on canvas.

“Relief” – fashioned to resemble a flag coming to rest and symbolic of a believer submitting and surrendering to Christ. He will give us rest from all the battles of this life.

“All I Have” – fashioned to resemble a tattered flag pieced and tied together with what ever scraps of fabric that can be found. Though not perfect as we visually know to be a flag, all we have should be submitted to Christ – represented in red.

“Battle Ready” – fashioned to resemble a flag aggressively flying in the wind, going into battle. Though Christ has gone before us, we humbly and boldly go into battle.
