From Death To Life

Lori Thompson

Mixed media – cardboard, copper, chemicals, acrylic, wood, walnut stain

This piece was so much fun! Using the black walnut stain my dad made, from his own tree, gave it special meaning to me.

Inspired by the Dark & Light theme, this piece approaches the concept metaphorically, reflecting my typical approach to artistic creation.

Partnering with God to make something new with various media—especially broken, torn, thrown away things— brings joy to my heart, and I hope, glory to God.

“For you are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or to the darkness. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, the new has come into being. 2 Thessalonians 5:5 and 1 Corinthians 5:17
