Digital photography
These seemingly random white dots are holes on a back-lit circuit board (an old video card, to be precise). I was photographing the surface components on the board when I noticed light shining through the holes.
Complex circuit boards like this one have holes to allow the “wires” to pass from one side of the board to the other, uniting the two.
As an engineer, I see the beauty in circuit boards, code, numbers, and seemingly-random patterns. Living in a technological world, I think sometimes we take these for granted and overlook the creativity and artistry that went into them.
