LIFE WITH GOD AND CREATIVITY BELONG TOGETHER
The way you imagine, create, speak, and respond to the world can become part of how you follow Jesus.
Foundations is our core course for creatives to become more fully who God made them to be—and put it into practice with freedom, courage, and love.
Whether you’re pursuing personal growth, volunteer ministry, or opportunities for income through creativity, Foundations helps you discover what’s possible.
Begin With What You Have.
Rediscover your own creativity that’s been buried under fear, perfectionism, comparison, or disappointment.
Relying on technique alone is a disaster: It’s art without heart. Discover deep meaning, joy, freedom, and inspiration by creating with a God who loves you.
You may be asking:
Why do my faith and creative life belong together? How do I recognize my artistic voice? Where is God in my creative process? Can I bring God’s beauty, hope, and healing to others through the arts? We’ll dive into these questions and more.
We don’t just talk about it; this is what we do.

Formation, not just information
Foundations is an active merging of creative practice, spiritual formation, reflection, experimentation, community, and curiosity.
You will look closely at what shapes your creative life—fear, expectations, identity, comparison—and begin new practices that can change everything.
Make Things. Try Things.
Foundations is designed to move ideas out of your head and into your hands. Through guided teaching, reflection, creative exercises, experimentation, and conversation, you’ll learn ways of seeing, making, listening, discerning, and responding that continue long after the course ends.
You’ll encounter different mediums and different ways of working—not so you can master them, but so you can become more flexible, curious, and awake to possibility. Paint. Collage. Photography. Writing. Movement. Music. Design. Journaling. And more.
Stepping outside of what you know can help you discover something you didn’t know you have.

Learn to recognize what is already in your hands
Foundations is not a formula or one prescribed way that an artist, ministry, or creative life is supposed to look like.
What keeps coming alive in you?
Who is right in front of you?
What are you noticing?
For one person, Foundations may reshape their studio practice. For another, it may change the way they teach, design, write, lead, parent, gather people, make music, serve a neighbor, or bring creativity into their church or community.
The goal is not to do it all or become like someone else.
Be fully alive in God. Be alive in who YOU are, so you can create with greater freedom.
Many artists keep a running evaluation in the background: Is my art good enough? Am I wasting time? Can I call myself an artist? What will people think?
If that’s you: Welcome in! Foundations invites you to practice creating while letting go of anxiety. There is room to play, experiment, and follow curiosity. Discover that God is present with you. As your freedom grows, so does the capacity to make art without guilt and let go of the temptation to prove its worth.
