He Knows My Name

I was inspired by Psalm 139:14, “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and my soul knows that very well.” It was a challenge for me to paint a person, especially myself. I am an amateur painter and human portraits have always been intimidating to me. Although my finished piece does not truly look like me, and I could have continued making changes for hours, I felt God’s presence in the end and was lovingly reminded that, He who has begun a good work in me will be faithful to complete it unto the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6) I don’t have to be concerned with perfection in my art nor my life; He sees me, loves me, and values me right where I am in my walk with Him.
