This Little Light of Mine

Each year I make special birthday cards for my nieces. This year I kept asking the question, “What lights them up?” What is the unique light God placed inside them to help light the world up?

Creating these pieces is a special time of reflection and prayer that helps me see new things about them each year. I hope it encourages them to see and value these deeper things developing inside of themselves too.

God is the Light of the world! He gives each of us a special bit of His light to carry into the darkness. My prayer for my nieces, nephews, and all of us, is (as the song goes) that we won’t hide it under a bushel or let Satan snuff it out, but let it shine deep down in our souls and everywhere we go until Jesus comes.
